Pleasure of giving

I like to receive gifts and I’ll lie if I say I don’t. And I like to make gifts as well. It can be a simple act of kindness (a cup of tea in a bleak cold winter day) or something made with my hands.
Handmade gifts are more than simple stuff created with our hands and minds. Handmade gifts are our love, positive energy and our TIME. I think TIME is probably the main reason why we’re skipping them. But on the other hand, TIME is the main reason why handmade gifts are so dear to us. And what a pleasure is to say such words like “this many hours of my life. I devoted it creating something for you” to someone special.

Of course there are plenty of projects that require a minimum of our time. Like knitted headband, which I made for my friend. It took only two evenings to make it, several hours to soak it and some time to block it. I really hope she enjoys it even will wear it. But if not, at least my good intentions will slowly fill her living place with good energy and love.
I think I should spend this year giving more of my time to someone special.

I love this thoughtful post. We could all give a little more - I like that thought. xoxo

Giving and receiving handmade gifts is one of the great joys in life. In my humble opinion :)

I agree wholeheartedly - it's all about the gift of time spent wishing that person well.
